i feel like it was a bit rushed to push this out as 1.0.0. there are some extremely janky bugs, for example:

• while federation works, you can't look up for accounts on other instances
• when you accept a follow request, you get to follow yourself.

but bonfire'll get there eventually, i'm sure!
